The Gospel Story
The message of the Gospel starts at the Beginning of time when God spoke everything into existence.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God made the earth in six days and rested on the seventh day. All that God made was good. God placed man in a beautiful Garden called the Garden of Eden.
Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Man quickly turned his back on God by disobeying God’s command not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Because of Adams sin all of the Human Race became Sinners and because of this deserve the Judgment of God.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
God promised Adam and Eve that he would provide a way to restore man to himself. God promised to make a way for all of mankind’s sin to be forgiven.
Many years later God did what he promised when he sent his only begotten Son Jesus to die for the sins of all people. Jesus was crucified for our sins.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
I am so glad to tell you that this is not the end of the story. Jesus came out of the grave three days later. This event is called the resurrection and is the assurance that he has conquered death for us.
Luke 24:6-7 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
Now because Jesus has paid for our sins we can be restored to fellowship with God. We do not need to face the judgment for our sins. We can in simple faith call out to Jesus to save us and he will.
